Amazon and Netflix won’t chill
January 11, 2018
On Wednesday Netflix and Amazon became part of a massive lawsuit against Dragon Media, a company that makes the Dragon Box. This is a device that allows people to access premium, normally paid-off content for free, by using a customized, open-source software called Kodi. The two companies are now on the same side as Universal, Columbia, Disney, 20th Century Fox, Paramount and Warner Bros.
The Dragon Box advertises itself as “One box. Thousands of channels.” Some of its other slogans include “Get rid of your Premium Channels,” and “Stop paying for Netflix and Hulu.”
This is not the first time these companies are filing a lawsuit like this. In October 2017, the same companies sued TickBox, a similar device that lets users watch streaming content for free.
