Paul Van Dyk in Dubai: Dance FM exclusive interview
April 15, 2018
Paul Van Dyk needs no introduction, he is one of Germany’s biggest DJs, producers and musicians. James Aramouni got a chance to catch up with the Grammy-nominated artist ahead of his set at Zero Gravity’s Helter Skelter event on the 5th of April. As he returns to Dubai, he promised to give the audience a surprise taste of new music he has been working on and told us how he puts together his performances on stage.
Watch the full interview in the video below. PS: note James’ expression at 2:31, he cannot contain his excitement.
In 2005 he was named the number one DJ in the world by Mix Mag and has not slowed down since. Paul Van Dyk truly enjoys his trips to Dubai, the events are always amazing and the shows never cease to wane in energy.
After the success of his last album ‘From Then On,’ he is currently halfway done with his newest album and said that Zero Gravity would be privy to some of his new and exclusive material. He explained that the way he performs on stage is very different to what other DJs do, there are “no CD players or turntables” but rather a full-blown recording studio on stage, which lets him come up with new sounds and “try new things” whilst he is in the heat of it all.
“It’s more of a live experience than a DJ pressing play.”
Summer 2018 is going to be a busy and exciting one for Paul Van Dyk, he will continue to stay passionate about his music with his regular Ibiza performances and a lot of festivals on the calendar, plus a plethora of shows in the Mediterranean.
