STEVE AOKI Makes EDM History

October 21, 2018

History has been made by Steve Aoki, by becoming the very first EDM artist to be featured in the one and only Smithsonian Museum. Two items of his (CDJs & Mixer) are on full display in the Ray Dolby Gateway to American Culture wing.

In that section of the museum, eight installations revolving around entertainment, sound, stadium and screen are being showcased.

His set follows the addition of two legends before him, Grandmaster Flash and DJ Bob Casey, which brings the Smithsonian’s display of DJ equipment into the current era, not to forget the fact his set is the first to be a featured as a digital system.

His legendary status stage performance vouches for him and solidified his place in the EDM universe and based on that, you can tell the ridiculous number of hours he must have put on these pieces of equipment.
