ERIC PRYDZ FULFILLS LATE FAN’S WISH
November 4, 2019
In 2016, James Lillo, a super fan of Eric Prydz was diagnosed with terminal cancer and wanted to see one final show of his idol.
When Prydz heard of this, he arranged to fly James to Los Angeles for a personal show that was also a benefit concert for Lillo’s charity of choice, Cancer Research Institute. Unfortunately, James never made it to the show. He sadly passed before the concert.
The same show was sold out for two nights in a row and raised $60,000 for Cancer Research Institute. Prydz was also inspired by James and released the Pryda track “Lillo,” which features the late fan on the cover.
Prydz also received a sculpture made from Lillo’s ashes with a touching note that thanked the DJ and stated “We would be delighted if you held onto James or found a place for him to rest. He loved to travel the world… so whenever you feel best is perfect” adding “PS: He’s always dreamt of going to Australia.”

And of course, Prydz took his “buddy” to Australia. Rest in peace James.
