ALL THE NOMINEES FOR THE BEST DANCE/ELECTRONIC CATEGORIES FOR THE 2020 GRAMMY

November 25, 2019

The nominations for the 2020 Grammy Awards are out and the dance/electronic album category does not disappoint.

This year’s nominees in the dance album category feature Aussies DJ Flume and alternative dance group Rüfüs Du Sol, The Chemical Brothers, Tycho and Apparat.

On being nominated, Rüfüs Du Sol band member Jon George said “It’s not what we’re doing it for, but it’s nice to be recognised for it. Especially with Solace, we just poured ourselves into it, and to be getting this recognition after the fact is just like icing on the cake now.”

And on being up against Flume, he said “We’ve been up against him before and lost, so I guess I’m not very hopeful for our chances,” adding “We started playing shows for him seven years ago in Australia; it will be nice to reconnect out here in LA for the Grammys.”

Best dance/electronic recording nominees:

Bonobo – ‘Linked’
The Chemical Brothers – ‘Got to Keep On’
Meduza feat. Goodboys – ‘Piece of Your Heart’
Rüfüs Du Sol – ‘Underwater’
Skrillex & Boys Noize feat. Tay Dolla $ign – ‘Midnight Hour’

Best dance/electronic album nominees:

Apparat – ‘LP5’
The Chemical Brothers – ‘No Geography’
Flume – ‘Hi This Is Flume’
Rüfüs Du Sol – ‘Solace’
Tycho – ‘Weather’

The 2020 Grammys will take place on January 27, 2020 at the STAPLES center, Los Angeles.

Flume has previously bagged the best dance/electronic album for ‘Skin’ in 2017. Will 2020 be his year?
