It’s no secret that the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Dubai are a grand spectacle. The city’s skyline lights up with an array of colorful fireworks that are perfect to ring in the New Year.

Every year, thousands of residents and tourists gather at spots across the UAE to catch the famous fireworks. From rooftop lounges to seaside spots, there’s a handful of places with stunning views of Dubai’s spectacular fireworks. If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the fireworks, here are some viewpoints across the UAE that are perfect to watch the spectacle unfold.

Burj Khalifa

It’s a New Year tradition for most UAE residents to welcome the New Year at the Burj Khalifa. The NYE show is truly a delight- there’s fireworks, an animation on the Burj Khalifa LED facade, the fountain show and more. Grand is an understatement here. This year, the Dubai Fountains will be showcasing the world’s longest choreographed fountain show.

The iconic show will also be broadcasted live on mydubainewyear.com, incase you can’t make it.

Global Village

If you’re missing the New Year celebrations back home, then head to Global Village and ring in 2020 when the clock strikes 12 from your respective country! Global Village will be celebrating the New Year not once but seven times! At 8pm Global Village will kick off the celebrations in the Philippines with fireworks, followed by Thailand at 9pm, Kyrgyztan at 10pm, India at 10.30pm, Pakistan at 11pm, the UAE at midnight and finally at 1am for Turkey.

Lucky for us, these epic celebrations will continue till January 7. Along with the firework displays, there’s gifts to be won and children under seven years of age get free entry!

Ras Al Khaimah

If you want to catch a truly magnificent NYE firework show then make your way to Al Marjan Island. The record-breaking firework display will be supported with pyro-drones which will start the countdown to the New Year. The pyro-drones will also be used to attempt a new Guinness World Record. The celebrations will also include a one-of-a-kind Japanese aerial shell fireworks display!

Last year, the Al Marjan Island ushered the New Year by setting the Guinness World Record for “largest aerial firework shell” which was powered by 1,089.545 kilograms of fireworks!

Abu Dhabi Corniche

If you’re in the capital, you can catch a dazzling 10-minute firework display at the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The celebrations will go on for two days with a festival that includes entertainment, activities AND Bruno Mars. The Abu Dhabi Corniche is an excellent spot to see the sky light up with sparkle against the backdrop of the city.

Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah

Welcome in 2020 with the breathtaking firework display at Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah. A stunning 10-minute long firework display will be launched from 16 massive barges, supported by a fountain show that will lit up Sharjah with sparkling splendor. If you’re looking for the best spot that make a reservation with one of their fountain-facing restaurants.

The firework displays in UAE are the perfect way to bid adieu to 2019. A grande finale of sorts.
