We’ve been a little curious and did some digging to get to know this EDM legend better. Here are 10 crazy facts we didn’t know about Steven Hiroyuki “Steve” Aoki (bet you didn’t know that)!

He had two Guinness World Records
In 2013, he broke two records- “longest crowd cheer”  and “the most glo-sticks lit simultaneously”. However, both records were broken. Time to break another record, Aoki?

His siblings are called Kevin, Grace, Devon, Kyle, Echo, and Jennifer. His half-sister Devon is known for her role in 2 Fast 2 Furious.

His father used to be a Japanese wrestling champion, Rocky Aoki, and restaurateur who founded the popular Japanese restaurant chain Benihana.

He named his record label after Bruce Lee
“Dim Mak” is Bruce Lee’s signature fight move. It is also known as “the touch of death”

He made a guest appearance in “Arrow”
He featured as himself at the grand opening of Oliver Queen’s fictional nightclub. Interesting.

He’s a world class chess player 
He started playing chess when he was only 4 and once ranked in the top 250 chess players in the world!
